Sung-Ae Lim used to call herself a “Nomad” but now calls herself “5th Culture." She Korean who grew up in Hong Kong for the first 13 years of her life. She then moved to New Jersey with her siblings, studying at Juilliard's Pre-College, playing piano. At 16 years of age, she moved, with your younger sister, to Germany to study at Cologne Music College. Toward the tail end of her music studies, she sensed God calling her away from music to the mission field. Therefore, she transferred to Continental Theological Seminary in Belgium and received a BA in Biblical Studies.
While a student at CTS, she was also heavily involved with a variety of different ministries including serving refugees, helping sex workers in the Red Light District, and being on staff with YWAM. Her passion for ministry ultimately brought her back to the US to further study studies where she earned a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. It is here where she met her husband, Peter Lim (lead pastor of 4Pointes). God brought two very different people from opposite sides of the world, yet who shared the heart to plant churches and ministering to the “3rd Culture" community.
Aside from ministry, one of her greatest joys is to serve together with Peter and raise her 2 growing boys, Moses and Micah.
